The new Schuberth C5 Carbon is the very first motorcycle helmet from Schuberth Performance. The carbon shell is handcrafted by the same highly specialized technicians who make the Schuberth Formula 1 helmets. Thanks to the manual lamination and the longer curing in the autoclave, the shell of the C5 Carbon not only combines an extremely low weight, but also a significantly higher structural and mechanical strength. The new C5 Carbon has the double homologation P/J as well as all the well-known high quality features and comfort of the C5. In addition, the C5 Carbon also meets the demanding ECE 22.06 standard.
The carbon shell of the new C5 Carbon is made using the same lamination and autoclave processes as our racing helmets. More importantly, the shell is handcrafted by the same highly specialized technicians who make the helmets of the current Formula 1 World Champion.
One Worker, One Shell:
The manufacturing process of the new C5 Carbon is based on the "one worker, one shell" principle, which means that the technician who starts the lamination has to carry out the entire shell production process.
At the end of the lamination process, the carbon mold is closed and enters the vacuum station, where dedicated workers carefully wrap and vacuum each mold in preparation for the autoclave curing cycle.
The Schuberth Performance autoclaves generate a combination of pressure and temperature within a precise time frame. In a cycle of up to four hours, the layers of carbon and resin are transformed into a monolithic part that has excellent mechanical strength and low weight.
Working with the best partners:
All of our Schuberth Performance helmets are painted by a highly specialized and renowned company that has many years of experience as a certified supplier to the most well-known car manufacturers.
-Outer shell:
The outer shell of the C5 Carbon combines an aerodynamically optimal shape with optimal protection. Thanks to the manual lamination and curing in the autoclave, the shell not only combines an extremely low weight, but also significantly higher shock absorption.
-Inner shell:
The inner shell of the helmet is made up of several parts to optimize the shock absorption properties. A complex multi-zone foaming of the main body achieves better force absorption and distribution and offers you the highest level of safety. The large side parts ensure that the helmet fits perfectly and comfortably.
-Aerodynamics:
The C5 Carbon sits calmly in the airflow, both when driving in a sporty manner and when touring and cruising. At higher speeds, the C5 Carbon develops virtually no lift.
-Additional wind deflector:
The additional wind deflector prevents unwanted inflow of wind into the helmet. In addition, the driving noise in the helmet can be further reduced. The additional wind deflector is attached to the inside of the acoustic collar with the help of Velcro strips and can be removed if necessary to allow an additional supply of fresh air even in hot weather.
-Chin part:
The C5 Carbon can be opened or closed at any time, regardless of the position of the visor and sun visor. The hard and safe end stop ensures that the folded-up chin guard is held securely in its position.
-Chin strap with Micro Lock ratchet closure:
The C5 Carbon is equipped with a ratchet lock. This closure system allows you to put on the chin strap easily and tailored to your head every time you put on the helmet.
-Visor with anti-fog pane:
The visor is an anti-fog double pane visor. By attaching the inner visor using eccentric retaining bolts, the two visors are pre-stressed towards one another and the anti-fog visor is sealed as a result. An insulating air cushion is created between the main or outer pane and the inner pane of the visor, which prevents the inner pane from fogging up.
-Memory function:
The new Visor Memory System is a patented visor mechanism that retains the last set visor position when the chin bar is opened. When riding with the visor open and then opening the chin guard, the visor also remains open when you close the chin guard again. Conversely, if the visor was closed, it will close automatically when you close the chin bar.
-Interior:
The replaceable, washable and seamless interior of the C5 Carbon ensures not only an excellent fit but also better ventilation of the helmet. The comfort cheek pads ensure soft padding on the cheeks and the head pad ensures a good fit around the head. The head pad ensures a comfortable fit on the head without covering the ventilation channels. The interior is made of skin-friendly material everywhere. A soft, breathable Interpower material that transports heat and moisture very well and a special, antibacterial, odor-reducing material is used.
-ventilation system:
The C5 Carbon has a multi-stage adjustable visor. Depending on your speed and the tendency to fog up, open the visor wide enough so that it doesn't fog up and at the same time your eyes are protected from unpleasant drafts.
-Reflective areas:
Black reflective applications in the neck padding and in the forehead area make the motorcyclist more recognizable. All C5 have a reflective application on the wind deflector, which provides better visibility when riding with the chin bar open.
-Communication system:
The most advanced technology for your Schuberth C5 Carbon. Extremely easy to install, configure and use, the SC2 sets a new standard for on-bike communication. The required hardware is already pre-installed in the Schuberth C5 and, in addition to the new HD speakers, contains three antennas for Bluetooth intercom, mesh intercom and FM radio. Deploying the SC2 is very simple: plug in the HD Boom Microphone, remove the cover on the back and side of the helmet, insert the remote control into the appropriate socket, install the main unit on the back and you're ready to go.
Thanks to the new Mesh 2.0 technology, the Schuberth SC2 communication system offers an unprecedented level of intercom connections and redefines "communication network". Thanks to Mesh 2.0 technology, it is now possible to connect with a practically unlimited number of participants. In addition, our new system features HD speakers, as well as Sena's latest microphone, Advanced Noise Control, digital assistant and a range that rivals the highest-performing products on the market.
-The Sound of Silence:
The Schuberth C5 Carbon confirms its leading position in terms of aeroacoustic comfort with a sound pressure level of just 85 dB(A) at 100 km/h on a naked bike. Thanks to the in-house wind tunnel, Schuberth was able to optimize every single component in terms of aeroacoustic comfort, both inside and outside the helmet. The result is an incomparable noise level.
